Gardens and Giving at the May 9 Food Drive

What a beautiful neighborhood and what wonderful and giving neighbors!  The beauty of an Old SW May is on display from our Facebook Old SW Virtual Garden contest. We had 21 entries (thank you) on Facebook – it was tough picking only 3. Should we do a Facebook Old SW Virtual Pets contest next?

Our judges selected the following to put on our Old SW website:

The Glover Garden on the 400 block of Walnut

The Adkins Garden on the 400 block of Allison

The Haynes Garden, 500 block of Marshall

Now for the giving part! We want to see your incredible Roanoke and Old SW generosity on display at the Feeding America Southwest Virginia Food Drive on Saturday, May 9, between 12:30 pm - 6:30 pm in the 808 5th Street parking lot of The Haven on 5th. Old SW’s own Katie Clifton put this together. It is co-sponsored by Queenpin Family Wellness and Old SW, Inc. 

We'll have bins set out for food donations and a container for monetary donations. Cars can pull up and drop off their items/make a donation. Feeding America Southwest Virginia is in urgent need of food and monetary donations to help our neighbors in need. Thank you for making a difference!
